WARTAAGRIBISNIS.COM (24/05/2022) – Strategi komunikasi penanganan peyakit mulut dan kuku (PMK) di Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat cukup unik, dengan melibatkan pemuka agama dan menggunakan pegeras suara (toak) masjid yang ada di desa-desa. Cara ini terbukti ampuh karena peternak dan masyarakat jadi lebih paham dan lebih waspada terhadap kesehatan hewan.
Kepala Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Mashyur mengatakan bahwa pencegahan melalui toak bahkan didukung pengurus dewan kemakmuran masjid (DKM), ketua RT sampai masyarakat setempat.
Menurutnya, pola semacam ini terbukti efektif karena setiap kali ada gejala PMK pada hewan ternak, masyarakat langsung waspada dan melaporkannya pada petugas posko yang siap jemput bola.
“Begini pak, ketika masyrakat panik karena harga anjlok semua jadi repot pak. Makanya saat kita umumkan kesigapan kita terhadap bahaya PMK melalui toak masjid mereka langsung mendukung. Karena cara ini juga sebagai langkah antisipasi agar penularan PMK bisa kita tekan bersama,” ujar Mashyur, Selasa, 24 Mei 2022.
Dengan cara itu, kata Mashyur, tingkat kepedulian masyarakat jadi lebih besar dan resiko hewan yang terpapar juga jadi lebih sedikit. Apalagi tingkat kesembuhan hewan di Lombok Timur terbilang cukup banyak seriring adanya bantuan obat dan vitamin dari jajaran Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan).
“Kami mengucapkan terimakasih kepada jajaran kementan yang terus merepon cepat penanganan PMK di kabupaten lombok timur,” katanya.
Mashyur menambahkan, saat ini jajaran tiga pilar Lombok Timur (pemda, TNI, Polri) terus menjaga wilyah sentra ternak di tiap desa. Merek bersiaga dengan mengaktifkan grup whatsapp yang ada.
“Jadi begitu ada kabar hewan yang terindikasi positif kita langsung bergerak cepat. Itulah kekompakan kami di Lombok Timur. Semua turun tangan untuk menekan penularan PMK,” ujarnya.
Perlu diketahui, penanganan PMK di Kabupaten Lombok Timur juga dilakukan melalui penyemprotan beraama tiga pilar di setiap kandang-kandang yang ada. Penyemprotan dilakukan rutin setiap hari jumat setelah melaksanakan ibadah shalat jumat.(nor/png)
